Free Online Guitar Tuner
Tune your guitar with your device's microphone - no app, no download, no account. Your audio is analyzed locally in your browser and never sent anywhere. Click start, allow microphone access, and play one string at a time.

Play a string
Microphone is off. Tuning works best in a quiet room.
How to use it
- Pick your tuning (standard E A D G B E is the default).
- Press start and allow microphone access when the browser asks.
- Pluck one string and let it ring. The display names the nearest note in your chosen tuning.
- Turn the tuning machine slowly: if the needle sits left (flat), tighten the string; right (sharp), loosen it. Green center means in tune (within about 5 cents).
- Repeat for each string, thickest to thinnest, then do one more pass - tightening earlier strings pulls the others slightly out.
Too much background noise? Electric guitar: plug in if you can, or turn your amp's volume up and hold the guitar near the mic. Acoustic: point the sound hole toward your device.
New to tuning?
Lesson 2: how to tune a guitar walks through it slowly, including how to tune by ear when no tuner is around.
